Cancer should be treated by special diets and not just drugs

We have no evidence at this stage that any particular diet will cure cancer. However, a patient with cancer needs to be well-nourished to increase their body's chance of fighting the disease, and to allow more effective use of standard treatments with drugs and/or radiotherapy.

A person with cancer may need a diet to help avoid or circumvent nausea, deal with loss of appetite and altered bowel function, overcome the problems of eating and cope with the increased body metabolism by providing more energy dense foods (foods with high kilojoules per serve such as cheese, butter or margarine, nuts and jams). A lot can be done nutritionally to assist the cancer sufferer.
