What can I have for dinner?

Summary of WEEKLY main meals for an OMNIVOROUS DIET

Three-four times a week: Red meat (or larger serves 1-2 times a week)

Once to twice a week:
Chicken/Pork

Once to twice a week: Fish


Once to twice a week: Eggs

Once to twice a week: lentils/dried beans/chickpeas/ tofu/tempeh/nuts combined with rice/pasta/corn/bread (in place of a meat dish)

This weekly menu encourages a wide variety of plant and animal
foods to be consumed across the week, especially if a variety
of vegetables accompany each meal.

VEGETARIANS need DAILY meals based on meat alternatives

Vegetarians need to have legume or soy or nut or egg meals daily with wholegrain cereal/rice/corn/bread products to ensure adequate iron, zinc and protein intake.
