Health risks associated with coffee
 |
Boiled
coffee and plunger coffee contains substances called
diterpenes. These substances increase LDL (bad) cholesterol
and reduce HDL (good) cholesterol. These substances
are removed during the processing of instant coffee
and probably filtered coffee. |
 |
The
caffeine in coffee has a mild diuretic effect though
this effect is probably of no significance in terms
of health. |
