Healing properties of Shea butter
nut
The shea butter nut originates from the
Karite Nut tree which can live for 300
years and almost all parts of the tree
have some practical use. It can be found
in the semi-arid savannahs of West and
Central Africa but also in some parts
of East Africa. The women of Africa have
been using shea butter for centuries as
cooking oil.
Use
of Shea butter nut tree in daily life:
Fruit
The vegetable oil out of the soft part
of the fruit can be used in
- soap-making
- cooking
- skin and hair care
- heal burns and wounds
- promote cell regeneration and capillary
circulation
- useful for treatment of eczema, rashes,
severely dry skin
Bark
- ingredient in traditional medicines
against certain childhood illnesses
- minor scrapes and cuts
